12/14/08 Well it was a rough weekend for Team Wildman we tried something new. Team Wildman in 2 states competing on the same night. I went to Moline Illonois to fight Pat Miletich and Rick and Dom went to San Manuel to fight KOTC. It didn't go as planned I won't sugar coat it I was KOed in :50 of the 2nd rd. Rick was Koed :16 in the 2nd rd. Dom went out and did well at his new weight @ 155 and pulled a split dec win. At least we had 1 guy win. It was my 1st time in 53 pro fights, that I was actually KOed. O well 155 here I come.

11/24/08 Went down to Millennia for there 1st ever No Gi grappling tourny and had a blast. We took down 8 guys and 5 metaled and 1 didn't compete had to get to work, not bad. Seth and Dave took 1st, Lamar and Steve placed 2nd, James pulled a 3rd. Had a lot of team support a bunch of support. I ended up reffing half the day they didn't expect it to be as big as it was. A great turn out for a great day.

11/20/08 LMAO Well after everything I am back up and running sorry fans updates are on and krackin!!!!!

The team has been doing really well with some good additions and some losses. We added Dave Esquibel to our line up and lost Tony"Kryptonite"Lopez he has come to a cross road and is crossing it without TW in his corner. We will be signing a couple guys to Pure Combat on Dec. 5th 2day stay tuned for that. My fight with the legend Pat Miletich is only 3 weeks away. To be a legend u have to beat one. Guess I am going to be a legend. Just want to thank all u fans for staying loyal with everyone was a little more loyal.

Chris Drumm lost Via TKO :58 to Riveria and the team took a big hit and made us regroup and put the rules of TW back into effect.

CXF 10/30/08 Chris Drumm Taking on Cisco Riveria need tix come by the gym starting @ $25 a seat.....

10/19
Long Beach Fight night. Preston Scharf took on the High Desert favorite Alex"Mad Dog"Rickards Preston came into the fight very confident and some vengance on his mind (10 days prior Preston was robbed at the Apocalypse Fights 2 @ Spotlight 29 Casino VS Mike Meralez). That being said from start to finish he was not going to let this one go to the judges. Preston came out looking to throw some leather but Alex had another idea as he backed Preston in the corner after a brief exchange Preston Body locked Alex down right to mount. From there he rained down punches till herb had no other choice but to step in. He is there for the fighters safety. Preston Scharf wins 1:05 1st rd.

Next up late notice Dominic Verdugo took on Uknown Marcus Ajain. From what we had found on 3 days notice was he was a south paw striker, with a 7-7-0 record. Dom came out looking to bang. Marcus came out conventional and went right for a takedown. After a brief scramble Dom had him in the corner landing big knees to his thighs and foot stomps only problem was Marcus had an arm around Dom's neck. Well u can only play with fire for so long, till you get burned. Marcus went for the choke and before you knew it Dom had no choice but to tap out...... Man what a shitty way to lose.... Freezing up and not listening to your corner! O well it is what it is and Dom will be back stronger than ever. It was his last fight @ 170 he will be fighting where he should 155. Marcus Again wins 1:50 Guillotine.

10/16
KOTC San Manuel 1st up we had Rick"IE Bad Boy VS James"The Educator"Fanshier this was a great battle on both sides Rick being the stalker taking the fight to James the whole 15min war. James being the tough as nails taking the beating. This was a great fight for fighter and coach we had bonded and trained our asses off for this fight and it showed. He controlled the action and pace from start to finish. Rick didnt get comfie with his new stand up skills till the 3rd rd and started landing some big shots. Hats off to James he is a hell of a fighter and more of a WARRIOR. Rick Legere WINS 3RD UD.

Tony"Kryptonite"Lopez took on Fernando Gonzales for the Vacant Light Heavy title keep in mind Tony is already the Heavy Weight Champ. Tony took this fight even without really training 17days prior to the fight! He was having some personal issues and was hard to even take the fight. Fighters Fight and thats what he did. Tony was looking at keeping the fight away using a variety of leg kicks where 5'10" Fernado was looking to land that 1 big shot. 1st rd was back and forth action with Tony almost finishing the fight with an RNC at the end of the 1st. Tony came out with the same game plan using push kicks to hopefully force Fernando to attempt a TD and he took the bait. After eating a plethra of push kicks to the belly fernando attemted a double Tony Sprawled and took his back sinking the choke then the hooks Fernando tapped just 1:35 in the 2nd RD. Tony becomes the 1st ever champion in 2 weight classes!!!!!!!

10/11
What can I say about this kid taking a fight on just 1 week notice Bryan proved once again how he got the nickname. The Beast. We flew out to North Carolina the same day as weigh ins (Thanks to the Toe2Toe family for the last minute flights) weighed in checked into our hotel and slept, fight day came oftly fast! Bryan was taking on Spencer Aitor Canup a very tough Southpaw Black Belt from Royce Gracie. Our gameplan was to keep the fight standing and use Bryans reach. The plan couldn't have gone any better after a brief exchange and some circling Bryan landed a straight right, left hook, straight right that crummbled Aitor to the mat and wasnt getting up, Bryan wins :58 in the 1st and becomes the CFP Middle Weight Champion Jus 1 YR 9 Months of MMA training and becomes a champion not bad.

10/9
Headed out to the Spotlight29 casino out in the middle of howhere thats right I said HOWHERE..... For the Apocalypse Fights 2. Ben Martin started off the night for Team Wildman with a great perfomance KOing his opponent in 1:32 of the 2nd RD. his 1st fight with the Team look for big things from him in the future!

Preston Scharf had only been training with us for about 2 weeks before this fight. He took on local tribe member Mike Meralez. There was a lot of glitches with us being the 1st fight 2gether since leaving the PIT after 8yrs of training there. We had a hard time with termanology and some backstage things that were going on leading up to the fight, reguardless Preston was in charge from start to finish on top landing the better shots mike went for a lot of subs but nothing close to finishing or putting Preston in any danger. After the smoke cleared and the 3x3min rds it was left to the judges. Mike could barely walk his eye was cut pretty good and his nose had blood pouring out of it! After being helped to the center of the ring Mike was in bad shape it looked like Preston hadnt even started the fight yet not a scratch. Clearly we had won a dec. not so fast as the announcer said we have a split dec. 1st Judge had it 30-27 Preston 2nd Judge had it 29-28 Mike and the 3rd judge(Drum Roll) scored it 29-28.......Mike. Wow talk about robbery the crowd even was booing at the Dec. We were pretty upset so we put in a petition to have the fight looked at again for further review stay tuned to the outcome.

9-13
Dominic Verdugo took on Purple belt Jiu Jitsu fighter Luis Cordero this was our 1st fight together since Dom switching training camps. From start to finish Dom the Dominator did what he does best Dominated. Landing big strikes and leg kicks and defending the TD well he had a great 1st RD. He came out the 2nd looking to finish what he started the 1st. After landing some brutal leg kicks to Luis's leg he had no choice but to stay down on the mat then get carried out of the cage. Dominic wins 1:32 2nd RD TKO leg kicks.

Sorry for the time it has taken to update. Friday the 18th before my fight with Diaz some asshole decided to come in my gym and steal my laptop with my updating software. I will be back up and running soon till then here is some updates.

8/30/08 Fighting4kidz.com Santa Monica

Dustin Rhodes moved his record to 3-2-0, coming off a 2 year layoff and joining Team Wildman about 6 months ago as he coaxed a tapout from Vince Ortiz with a triangle choke 33 seconds into round two.

Seth Dikun came out on fire with every intention of proving he is a force at 135 unbeaten at this weight class, knocked AKA phenom Vanoscar Penvaroff (2-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten, as he submitted the featherweight with a rear naked choke in 61 seconds. Dikun (6-2) has won four straight. Look for him to sign with the WEC real soon.

World Extreme Cagefighting veteran Bryan Baker also went the distance to attain victory, as he earned a unanimous decision over Gary Padilla.

Based out of Brandon Vera's Alliance Training Center, Padilla came out not wanting to exchange at all and tried to take the fight to the ground early, as he tried to steal a page from Chael Sonnen's playbook. Almost immediately, he shot in for the takedown and slammed Baker to the mat twice. Baker who was outclassed on the ground in a decision loss to Sonnen in March improved his game and escaped both times and forced Padilla into a stand-up affair.

Baker (7-1) had a distinct advantage standing and began to pick apart his opponent with punches and knees. He had Padilla badly hurt in the latter stages of the first
round. It should have been stopped from the clinic he was putting on Padilla. But Padilla is a warrior and wouldnt quit.

Padilla (8-3) tried to recover by the start of round two and traded wildy and desperate with Baker, who continued to capitalize. The third round provided more of the same, as Baker got the best of most of the exchanges. Padilla, with the crowd's backing, proved resilient and fought back with combinations of his own none of which landed, and did no damage. All three judges scored it 30-27 for Baker.

8/14/08 KOTC San Manuel

Chris Culley VS Ernie Calma Chris Culley wins TKO 2nd Rd.
2:19. Chris really showed that being a part of Team Wildman has really changed his game and looked great.

Rick Legere VS Daniel Hernandez Rick Legere wins Submission (Rear Naked Choke) 2nd Rd. 2:01 This was a great teast for Rick he had only been on our team for 9 weeks leading up to this fight and it was a good 9 weeks as he came out a mixed martial artist with punches, kicks, and takedowns. Look for this kid to be a champion @ 170.

7/5/08 Hope u all had a great 4th of July I trained twice and went and saw Hancock great film.

This weekend coming Chris Culley who has just recently started training with us will look to get on the winning track as he competes 7/12/08 @ the TFA we will be out there giving him support.

Then up next Tony"Kryptonite"Lopez will be taking on former Team Wildman student Wes Combs. Tony has been training his ass off for this fight, 1st it was for the HVYWT Title now with it being VS Wes it also personal. Go Tony bring that belt home where it belongs.

I will have hard tickets for purchase here at the gym if you would like to make the roadtrip up to Stockton to see me shock the MMA world on July 26th come sit in my section to cheer me on. 760-243-2700.

7/1/08 15-4-0 as a team getting better in 08.......

6/24/08 What a great day...... Right to the point I am fighting Nick Diaz July 26th in Stockton for the EliteXC I have been waiting a lifetime for this fight.....

Gregg Dalton went to Colorado and kicked some Nick Bushman ass..... It was a war with Gregg coming out the victor with a Unanimous Dec. all 3 judges saw it 30-27. Nick left with a broken nose after the fight Nick commented that was the hardest he had ever been hit in his 10-2-0 career. That bumps Greggs record to an impressive 7-2-0.

Seth"2-Quick"Dikun did just what we thought shined looked very impressive in his victory over game opponent Martin Bautista. 2 judges scored it 30-27 1 judge had it 30-26 for a U.D. It bumps his record to 5-2-0. We were very proud of Seth considering he fought my old coaches prodigy. Having Juliano Prado who gave me my purple belt and Colin Oyama who taught me a lot in the 16 months he trained me. It was a great win for our team.

6/10/08 Gregg"Dynamite"Dalton will be fighting Nick Bushman @ the PCF in Denver on the 21st check out www.denver.tv for the PPV it will be $10.00.

Tony"Kryptonite"Lopez will be fighting for the KOTC HVYW title in Wisconsin on July 19th it will be a PPV show be sure to watch as he fights #1 contender Josh Barnes 8-1-0.

5/29/08 Seth"2-Quick will be fighting June 14th @ the Upland arena CXF. He will be taking on tough up and comer Martin Bautista we have tickets here at the gym if u can make it come out and support.

5/28/08 Well it has been a pretty crazy month. Well we are 1/2 way thru the year and Team Wildman as a team is 13-4-0 not bad could be better we will be getting more action soon keep checking back.

Chris Solomon stepped up on a 3 day notice to fight Olaf Alfonso on the PFC card in Lemoore, Ca. on May 8th. Things didn't go so well for us. The fight never really started they were both feeling each other out. A few leg kicks nothing significant Chris went up to throw a superman punch and Olaf threw a huge overhand right...... Problem was Olaf landed first and knocked Chris into next Tuesday. Olaf wins KO 23 seconds in.

Next up we had Gregg Dalton taking on Dave Rivas @ the KOTC at San Manuel in Highland, Ca. wow what a war and everyone agreed fight of the night it was back and forth action with Gregg believing in his blocking staying in the pocket and firing off big shots. He secured a take down in the 1st rd. had Dave out but he was saved by the bell 2nd rd. started where the 1st left off. Until Gregg landed a left hook straight right that sent Dave to the canvas this time for good. Gregg wins 3:41 2nd rd.

Tony"Kryptonite"Lopez is a new guy to the team although he is no stranger to a war..... He took on tough NCFC Joey Beltran coming in on 4 straight victories. It wasn't the prettiest fight though it was back and forth Joey was landing the better punches and Tony was getting the better kicks. Joey would land and then tie up Tony against the cage the 2nd time he did this would be his last for awhile as Tony landed a perfect Kimora which landed Joey in surgery from a broken arm..... Ouch we wish him a speddy recovery he is a tough guy with a bight future.

4/30/08 Some new dates for the Team. Steve Torres will be fighting Chaos in the Cage May 10th in Lancaster, Tony, Gregg, and Seth will be fighting @ KOTC on May 15th San Manuel.

4/21/08 Seth"2-Quick"Dikun stepped up on 10  hours notice to fight Sean Dizzay @ 145 when he fights at 135 as a favor for KOTC get to the weighs and weigh in and Sean decided he didn't want to get another lose I mean fight. So Tony was the only one that fought that night.

Tony had changes in his opponent all the way till the day of weigh ins. Wade Hamilton stepped and took the fight and was TKOed in 1:58 in the 1st for his efforts. It was a good learning experince for myself and Tony. I think he will fit in @ Team Wildman not only did he perform well, he listened well. We will fine tune him and he is going to be a monster.

4/15/08 Next up fight nights at the shrine. Go to kingofthecage.com for info I will be out there with one of our newest fighters Tony"Kryptonite"Lopez. Come and support......

4/14/08 Had a great weekend of fights Sat. night at the CXF in Upland Steve Torres took on Lonnie Wright from Apex Jiu Jitsu from the begining Steve was the hunter stalking Lonnie and put on a stand up clinic, Lonnie being a southpaw threw Steve off a little and took a few on the chin. About 2:10 in Steve landed a solid left hook straight right combo that put lonnie on the floor he bounced right back up only to catch a knee followed by 2 punches for the KO Steve wins 2:15 1st round KO.

Andy had his hands full on Sunday @ the Irvine Marriot with bad ass Travis McRoberts from HB training center hell training with guys like Rob McCullogh, Zach Light, Tiki you knew he was going to be tough. They came out like they had both talked bad about each others momma's. Travis had a slight edge towards then end of the round with about 2 seconds left BOOM Andys catches him with a mean right to the chin Travis is out on the canvas....... We thought the fight was over but I guess he was saved by the bell. Before round 2 started Andy is on his chair and leans in to me and tells me he broke his right hand. I ask him do you want me to stop the fight he tells me, hell no fighters fight...... A true WARRIOR. So for the next 2 rds they beat the hell out of each other Andy used more kicks, knees, and elbows and was having a hard time with his right. It was a all out war with Andy coming up short with a 29-28 dec. loss. This kid is an inspiration to all of us. We then went and spent all night in the ER. Then to top it off he wakes up and goes to school the next day. Oh yeah he is still a senior in high school........

4/1/08 Happy April fool's day........ Next up we have Steve Torres at CXF in Upland. We head to Irvine for the Battle in the Ballroom. Then we head up to Oregon for the Sportfight Matt Lindlands show. Then we head over to San Diego for the Total Combat where Seth Dikun takes on Dave Hisquerdo for the 135lb title.

I haven't pulled one prank today been kind of down. Anyway onto the news. I was victorious in my debut @ EliteXC not in the fashion I wanted though I was fighting a guy who didn't know the rules. Bryan had a bad night against Chael, thats all that happen it wasn't the stage the opponent he just had an off night plain and simple. He will be back stronger than ever.

The show at San Manuel had some ups and downs a couple lessons were learned. Its hard having a full time job and still trying to train full time as well. Lamar had one of the craziest accidents ever he pulled his own shoulder out of socket. Crazy huh...... He will heal and be back.

Lucas on the other hand had a good first fight back after his lay off. It wasnt his prettiest victory, but he won and thats what he needed. Miguel came out ready to bang Lucas did a good job of blocking and slowing miguels tempo down once Lucas tripped him to the ground it was one sided. The commision F'ed up and stopped the 1st round at 3 min in it was scheduled for 3x5min. Lucas had just passed went knee on belly and the bell rang. Round 2 was the same Lucas banged a little secured a TD and passed, mounted and let the onslaught begin till Cecil stopped it.

Rick Legere from John Munoz's camp had came up a few times for some cross training and looked great with his TKO win over always tough Gabe Lara.

3/28/08 Check out the new gym site @ utfmma.com has some videos from my last fight.

3/7/08 Some upcoming dates for Team Wildman 3/21 The Wildman @ Chumash Casino EliteXc, 3/26 Bryan"The Beast"Baker @ WEC Hardrock Vegas, 3/27 Lucas Taber @ San Manuel KOTC, 4/12 Steve Torres and maybe Dustin Rhodes @ CXF Upland Arena, 4/13 Gregg Dalton @ Battle in the Ballroom Irvine. We have about 8 more events the closer they come I will post them.

3/3/08 Well had a pretty good weekend. I am getting excited about this fight I can't wait to get in the cage and release some of this anger from the last fight. Hooked up with a great new company that is helping me out for this fight. Check them out @ multiimager.com they are a new company and lets get their name out there.

2/28/08 Well my opponent has finally been named here we are 3 weeks out and the unlucky is (Drum Roll Please) Malaipet MTA....... He was scheduled to fight Joe Boxer it was unfortunate that he suffered a neck injury and they bumped me up in his place to take on the Muay Thai world champ..... I am ready for the task...... Check out Elitexc.com for all the latest news.....

2/25/08 Seth"2-Quick was victorious @ his new weight class of 135 with a big 3rd round knock out win over Black Belt Krav Maga Junior Merkle it was a back and forth battle. It was a win in more than one way, Seth showed a ton of heart........

1/31/08

1/25/08

All I can say this morning is S@#T...... I lost Ko/Tko 1st time in my career. I am pretty heart broke today, hats off to Joe Camacho for doing his job. We came out like 2 pit bulls just opposites he is a wild crazy striker and I am a technical smooth operator LOL. He came at me wild and missed a few looping punches I countered with a nice right left right combo, he tried to clinch with me but I was just to strong as I folded him over for the take down, from there he went for submission after submission I countered and made him pay with punches and elbows. I saw him start bleeding from his nose and mouth and started having fun. He was trying to get a stand up by holding me down. It worked Cecil stood us up for inactivity. With only 30 secs left in the round he threw a couple more hay makers I countered with a nice switch kick to his dome...... Chin to the face. If he wouldnt have stepped in to it he would have been sleeping, instead he caught my leg and got a take down. In my guard he did nothing I went for a triangle he defended and the bell sounded.

Round 2

I had him where I wanted frustrated he came out winging again. I stepped off again right left right had him against the cage hit him with an upper cut stepped off. I heard my corner asking for a leg kick. Left hook to right low kick bang it was nice...... At the same time he thru his hands out and you guessed it thumb in the eye, I tried to back up and rub the blurriness out wiped it again and I was on the canvas trying to work butter fly guard and Cecil Jumped in to stop it. I was like why are you stopping it he told me you were out Thomas HUH I was working I thought...... When I wiped my eye the 2nd time Joe leaped in with a Chuck Liddell over hand hay maker that hit me behind the ear for a flash knock down....... Like I said S@#t...... Well back 2 the gym and train harder. I will still fight the EliteXc March 21st........ Till next time.

1/23/08

So one of our newest Team members that sounds funny how about one of our new family members Dustin"D-Bone"Rhodes from Alabama came out and started learning our style, went home and started teaching some of Team Wildman's techniques back home. He took team member Shawn Little @ 175 lbs to scrap,  now he started off @ weighing 235 and in 1 year dropped all that weight. They headed down to the Battle of Byram in Jackson, MS.  The plan went just as expected an overwhelming one sided affair with Shawn winning in 1 min 10 sec in round 1 via rear naked choke. Shawn has only trained at KnuckleHedz with Dustin Rhodes for 12 months.  He now goes to 3-1 amateur.

1/22/08

Man what a way to start off the year 3-0-0 @ Chaos in the Cage in Lancaster, Ca.

1st up we had Lamar Jiles up against local favorite Javier something Lamar just informed me. He came out ready for war. He started with circling and pumping the jab his opponent was throwing some 80's snap kicks Lamar timed one perfect hit him with an overhand right that put him on his butt, Lamar circled off let his opponent back up. He the hit him with a perfect left hook right low kick that wabbled him again than Lamar shot in with a nice double took him down mounted him and started raining punches and elbows, Javier rolled over ate a few more punches and Lamar figured het lets finish this with a perfect RNC. Lamar wins 2:12 1sr round rear naked choke.

2nd up to bat was the youngest licensed pro fighter in Ca. "Hurricane" Andrew Jewett took on Pete Sabala from Unbreakable Gym. Andy came out out ready to bang and Pete came out ready to wrestle. Pete wanted nothing to do with stand up. Andy threw a couple jabs and Pete shot in tried to take Andy down Andy sprawled and circled to his Pete's back Pete rolled and Andy ended up in mount. From there Andy was walking him to the cage hitting him with elbows and scooting the 1 time he forgot to elbow before walking Pete rolled Andy over and landed in guard thing is Andy went right to a triangle and started hitting him with elbows tightened his triangle and you guessed it tap tap. "Hurricane" seals his 1st pro victory 1:58 1st round triangle choke.

Last one of the night Seth"2-Quik"Dikun vs Bobby Sanchez out of the Shark Tank. This fight was identical to Andy's fight. From start to finish Take down defence to mount to roll to triangle it was crazy. This time though Seth held on Bobby went to sleep and the ref couldnt tell, Seth was in a mounted triangle hit him with a couple shots and then the ref pulled him off. Seth wins mounted triangle 2:32 1st round.

1/7/08

A lot of our hard work has paid off we have brought on some new Team sponsors on board of course we have Toe2Toe.tv who is down for life, but we brought on Premierfighter.com same sponsor as my friend Clay"The Carpenter"Guida, we also brought in Bloodfist Battlegear Matt has been great to us check them out @ http://www.myspace.com/bloodfistbattlegear or bloodfist.net. We have a new MMA shop going in here in Victorville called The Cage seems fitting enough. Check them out @ 15632 Bear Valley Rd. Victorville Ca. 92395 or call them @ 877.CAGE.GEAR I know its to many numbers but it works LOL.

1/04/08

We want to give big ups to a couple of sponsors that took care of us this year. Chad @ Toe2Toe.tv has been so great to us check out his site and buy...... Throwdown cages hooked us up fat to keep us in a cage all year. My Team has been great we went 39-11-1 for the year not bad for our 2nd year as a real team.

1/03/08

Well we finished with a bang @ the WEC in Vegas @ the Hardrock. Bryan"The Beast"Baker won a Split Decision over Eric Schambari to finish the year off. Bryan dominated from start to finish. I had the score 30-27 but I am not a judge. Bryan by far is the most improved fighter for 2007 from Team Wildman. He has only been in the game for 11 months..... Paulo Filho better watch himself we are coming for that belt.

Gregg Dalton fought a tough fight against Dave Hisquerdo @ the Total Combat event at 4th and B. I don't know if a crowd can sway Judges. Hell a jab that didn't even land would get a huge applause. Gregg fought his ass off and won 29-28 in my book but oh well like I say never leave it to the judges...... It was a tough learning expierence for Gregg if he would have listened to his corner he would have finished the fight.

The fight of the night went to Steve Torres once again here is a small write up.

Russian kickboxer Evgene Khil came out ready to put the beat down on Team Wildman's Steve Torres. Evgene's kickboxing was off the charts. However, this is mma and 1 dimensionality can only last so long. Steve Torres took advantage of Khil's non existent wrestling and took Evgene down at will. Once on the mat Torres unleashed on him for 3 rounds earning the unanimous decision.

Yes I am back in full swing I am fighting Jan. 24th @ the San Manuel KOTC against Joe Camacho.I am looking for new sponsors for 2008.

We are proud to welcome a new team member Dustin Rhodes he is 2-2-0 Pro. and 2-0-0 Amt. out of Alabama he was fighting @ 155 when I met him and now with the ECW#ed and his new training routine he has dropped to 145. I couldn't ask for a better team mate he is a great guy inside and out. Look for his 1st fight with his new team and weight class in Feb. we are pumped to have him by our side.

12/04/07

It has been a crazy month sorry I haven't updated. I took 5 weeks off after my fight to concentrate on the team and my family life...... Oh it was nice. I am so fricken sore my 1st week back. Well to the team we went up to San Jose to fight the Strike force on 11/16. Chris Drumm one of our greenest 145 lbrs took a last minute fight against Evan Esguerra. The fight was going as planned with back and forth action but Evan kept punching Chris in the back of the head. He was warned numorous times and at 2:35 of the second round of this match, Evan intentionally punched Chris in the back of his head. Cecil stood them up and took a point away. The Doctor stepped in to check on Chris he told Chris he could not continue and this match was officially ruled a No Contest. Chris should of won the fight but since the fight. Evan should have been disqualified.

On the airplane I get a text message from Gunnar that there is a submission tourny @ Larry Landless's gym. Now mind you no one but Gunnar knew about this tourny and been only back training for a week. I made some calls assembled a team of 7 guys on an hours notice. It was a team tourny with these weight classes but our guys weighed in a little under LOL 145 Quinten Jara 136, 155  Andy Jewett 147, 170 Gunnar Hinson 162, 185 Matt Hagge 176, 205 Pierre Razo 195, 225 Lamar Jiles 217 as you can see we gave up weight and just went to have fun. Matt worked 16 hrs and slept 2 hrs and came down to compete. Team Wildman is awesome, like I said went to have some fun these guys were spitting wearing plastics I mean really cutting weight. The warm ups were even better these guys were serious. We ended up tying for 1st with New Breed Jiu Jitsu. Some of the stand out matches were Gunnar VS New Breed beat both there Men @ 170 being 15 yrs old 1 guy was 27 and 1 was 25. Our 17 yr old Andy Jewett Took on New Breeds wrestling coach and lost by 1 point scored in the last 10 seconds. At the match I taught Matt an achilles straight leg lock and he submitted 2 guys with it. We were under the impression it was for 1 year or less come to find out it was 2 stripe blue belt or less we were way over matched way to go team for kicking some serious ass. Some teams avoid competing where we step up to it........

What a weekend we had.......

Lucas was 1st up @ competing only back training 3 weeks and trying to cut 20lbs for a jiu jitsu tourny, he got about 5 hrs in and only cut 13lbs decided to stop and go ahead and compete up a class..... Did well both days placing 3rd Gi and No Gi.

Headed into TJ for Seth and Chris's fights both made weight easily..... Chris was up 1st going against a last minute opponent, from a brawler to a tough New Breed Jiu Jitsu guy. Chris did good @ executing the plan with sprawl and brawl the 1st round had his opponent very frustrated. Round 2 started out the same with some good scrambles but forgot about his blocking and got into a pissing match. Looked a lot like the game rock em sock em robots unfortunately someone's head had to pop off......... Chris lost KO about 2 min in the 2nd round. Keep ur head up kid it was a great fight......

Seth had his turn in the ring looking very comfortable the 1st round as well with some great take downs and some good positions. He was going a little fast and wasn't securing the positions to finish the guy. 10-8 1st round easily. Going into the 2nd He didn't look worse for the wear looked fresh. He went out took a sloppy shot without setting it up and Duarte countered well with double underhooks. Seth had the overhooks and was in no danger. I think he felt a sense of urgency and rushed went for a lateral and Duarte took his back they scrambled and Duarte got back to his feet and wanted to exchange, Seth took another sloppy shot Duarte defended, Seth went into panic mode and just kept taking shot after shot. The last shot he took Duarte bucked his hips forward and landed in mount, Seth did well not taking any punishment but gave his back up by this time he was so gased Duarte put the choke in and finished. Tough lessoned learned......

The lesson learned from both these fights are believe in ur coaches like they believe in you....... Listen to them while you are competing.......

Sunday Total Combat in Oceanside Steve Torres 0-1-0 took on Kevin Dunsmoor 2-0-0 taking the fight on 8 days notice and cutting 11lbs. Steve went out and performed like a true champion. He made a couple of minor mistakes but put on a clinic of Team Wildman's style and won a UD 30-27 on all 3 judges score cards. From start to finish Steve showed the skills of an MMA fighter from scrambles, kicks, punches, and wrestling. When he heard 10 seconds to go in the 3rd he showed where his cardio was with a sprint of punches and elbows. Congrats on the great performance.........
